National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. – Dallas Metropolitan Chapter

What does it look like when Black women lead with intention, power, and purpose? In Dallas, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Dallas Metropolitan Chapter (NCBW Dallas) is showing us. And the truth is, their impact reaches far beyond what any single organization should be able to accomplish. They’re shifting narratives, strengthening families, and building the kind of community infrastructure that reminds us what’s possible when Black women organize around wellness, equity, and generational change.

Across the city you can feel their presence, not loud or performative, but steady, grounded, and deeply rooted in service. NCBW Dallas isn’t just supporting Black women and girls; they’re reshaping what leadership and community well-being can look like for all of us.

And the need for this work is real.

When Black women continue to face three to four times higher maternal mortality rates, when chronic disease disproportionately affects our families, and when so many still struggle to access preventive care; organizations like NCBW Dallas aren’t just filling gaps. They’re dismantling barriers. They show up for the women who are holding households, workplaces, and entire communities together, reminding us that our wellness is collective work.

A Mission Rooted in Advocacy and Action

NCBW Dallas was founded with a clear and urgent mission: to advocate for Black women and girls through leadership development, education, economic empowerment, and community engagement.

Their work reaches women, girls, and families across the Dallas Metro area, supporting community members navigating educational inequities, financial challenges, health disparities, and the weight of systemic barriers. Instead of only addressing symptoms, they lean into root-cause solutions that empower Black women to lead, influence, and thrive.

Building Health, Wealth, and Leadership Pathways

Health is a pillar of their mission and their approach is holistic.

NCBW Dallas is committed to closing health gaps that have persisted in our community for generations, from maternal health to chronic disease, mental well-being, and preventive care access.

Through collaborations with healthcare providers and wellness leaders, they host health fairs, caregiver circles, mental health workshops, and self-advocacy sessions that equip women to navigate medical systems with confidence. These programs aren’t just informational, they’re healing spaces where women learn, connect, and reclaim ownership of their health journeys.

One of their most impactful initiatives is the Health Caregivers Program, designed for  women caring for aging parents, children with special needs, or loved ones navigating serious health challenges. Participants describe the program as a lifeline, a space where they can breathe, be supported, and receive tools that help them care for themselves while caring for others.

And their commitment extends far beyond health.

It stretches into classrooms, youth programs, and the next generation of Black women leaders, because NCBW Dallas knows that empowerment starts early.

Through their Metamorphosis Mentoring Program, young girls aren’t just learning, they’re discovering their power. They’re building confidence, gaining academic support, and developing the leadership skills that will carry them into adulthood. Last year alone, the chapter awarded thousands in scholarships and provided dozens of young women with the mentorship and guidance they needed to envision themselves as future leaders.

Separately, the chapter also leads additional initiatives—including the Sisternomics Series, Annual Community Breakfast, and Leadership Training Programs — each operating as distinct programs that support wellness, advocacy, and leadership development across the broader community.

•        Sisternomics Series: A wellness and empowerment series creating space for women to learn, connect, and heal.

•        Annual Community Breakfast: A flagship gathering that unites the community around advocacy, impact, and scholarship.

•        Leadership Blueprint Training Program: A transformative leadership development program preparing women and girls to step into civic, corporate, and community leadership roles.

A Model of Trust, Openness, and Working Together

NCBW Dallas has built deep community trust through consistency, showing up in classrooms, boardrooms, town halls, and community spaces with authenticity and real change.

Transparency guides how they make decisions, steward resources, and evaluate their programs. They maintain open communication with members and the community through updates, reports, and intentional dialogue that uplift successes while acknowledging opportunities to grow.

Their collaborations span local, regional, and national partners, grounding their work in shared values, integrity, and service. This commitment to partnership underscores a belief that collective leadership is the foundation for lasting change.
